SHUTDOWN command

(i.e. "shutdown -h now" this will shut down Linux)
Option
Description
-r
* This
option tells init
to reboot the system once all processes have been shut down.
-h *
Halts the system once all of the processes have shut down. Then
shuts
down the box.
-a
Use
etc/shutdown.allow
-k
Does not shut down Linux, just sends the warning messages to users.
-c
Cancels a running shutdown command.
-f
Skips the filesystem check on reboot 'fast reboot'.
-F
Forces a 'fsck' filesystem check on reboot.
-n
Do
not go through init but go down real fast!
-t
secs: Delay
between Warning and Kill signal.
time
Time to perform the shutdown. Time may be specified as an
absolute
time
in hh:mm:ss format or as +N where N is the number of minutes from the
current
time. You may also specify the time as "now", which is an alias
for
+0 minutes.
message
Optionally, you may send system users a message using the wall
command.
