ACPI & APM
- Power Modes -

ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface)
enables six states of low-power consumption modes,
including a new state called Hibernation.  When you
place your computer in Hibernation mode, all data
in memory copies to a Hibernation file on the hard drive,
and your PC powers OFF entirely.  When you wake your
computer from Hibernation, the Boot Process is much faster.

APM States

Ready                  Computer is fully powered ON
Standby                Hard Drive and Video card are idle
Suspend                Hard Drive, Video card and CPU are idle
Off                        Copmputer is fully powered OFF
